At O2 we know that climate change is one of the most serious challenges facing society, and that every company has an important role to play in tackling it. Our goal is to make energy conservation a way of life for our company and to minimise our impact on the environment.

We have three main areas of focus: 1) to reduce and conserve the energy we use. 2) to source more of our energy from renewable sources. 3) to invest in suitable offset options for our remaining CO₂ emissions.

We are working closely with our suppliers and other partners to reduce the environmental impact of mobile technology. For example, with Nokia we have been trialling new phone packaging designed to fit through letter boxes to reduce multiple visits by courier, or journeys by customers to pick up their phone from a sorting office. And, of course, through our products and services we are enabling our customers and employees to reduce travel and CO₂ emissions using teleconferencing and home working.
